experience batad

when i was there a year ago, i promised myself that i have to see it again this year. the experience of being there and the grand view of the terraces being higher and even older than the Colosseum in Rome made it my number one most memorable trip of last year. i remember quoting from the Unesco World Heritage website saying "The Ifugao Rice Terraces are the priceless contribution of Philippine ancestors to humanity". this time i'm opening it to those who want to experience and see the Eight Wonder of the World plus a sidetrip to see the Banaue Rice Terraces. planned trip will depart Manila 10:00pm of Oct 22 and return to Manila by Oct 25 3:00am just in time for us to be able to vote for the barangay election 2010. if you're interested, email me at i.dongho@gmail.com.

I agree w/Oman, I highly recommend this trip too. My 1st visit to Batad was like 9 years ago back in college during our fieldwork, and I've only been back last summer, nothing much has changed, still the same stunning terraces and friendly people.

Batad definitely deserves another visit. Kahit nga foreign backpackers, they go there before/after hitting the beaches. I'd go there again myself lalo na ikaw pa ang organizer. Wala nga lang ako sa Pinas :(

>hi Eds, thanks!

>Sidney, thanks! what more when you're really there.

>Mokong, you must really include this on the places to visit soon. it's one of those places where you can take pride of what our ancestors (somehow since they were migrants) made.

>Dimcaye, just email me at i.dongho@gmail.com

>Lawstude, i remember when i first borrowed your photos of batad last time.

>Pietro, the trip and the destination is both unforgettable.

>Pinaysolobackapcker, wow! i didt knwo you went there nine years ago! it remains a stunning village.

>Nomadic, hahaha... salamat. sige sabihin mo kung kelan ka babalik at baka makasama ako.

Hope makasama ako sa trip dito if not this month, sa next sked na pag organize mo. Di pa ako nakakarating dito. The best ang lugar just by looking at your photos.

Please post info again here if u'll be organizing another trip or more trips somewhere. I bookmarked your site for daily inspiration. Thanks.
