calaguas uphill

“we should go back. looks like there’s no good way up” It was steep, lush and complicated but we proceeded.

tthe first time i was in this island, this hill immediately caught my attention. the idea of getting a view of the beach stretch from the top will definitely be rewarding but i might be wrong.

i was surprised when I saw fellow bloggers Ada and Jonel when we arrived in the island. the next day I saw them walking their way to the rocky side and just as I wanted to trek the hill before, they were on their way there.so i joined.also with us was Luke who was as determined. we started our way up on a path uphill. immediately the way was really steep that we joked “we might end up staying on top calling for a rescue”.

the way was becoming complicated but a few peek of the view gave us enough reason to proceed. the area shifts from crossing over tall grassy areas to some plain steep path. but to a certain height, vines with thorns came along the way that limits our chance to reach the peak.

we have to find a way, we were already sweating. we somehow thought we should stop but proceeded as we knew we were almost there. until wooden vine-like trees, almost covered our way. there was no more path ahead.

went back down and realized that a good view of the beach can already be viewed halfway up with just tall grass covering the view. we helped each other moved a part of the grass until we finally got a view of the beach.

it was all worth the try. beyond the nice view it was just good to have trekked with Ada, Jonel and Luke.

Nice photos of the hill. It reminded me of chu chi tunnel in Vietnam. I am posting about chu chi tunnel in my post in my travel blog. http://alicetravelstory.blogspot.com/
