upon browsing the CNN website, i got the chance to check the travel section and found out that it featured Manila. it featured the walled city of Intramuros, green spot Rizal Park, the shoe capital of Marikina, and the restaurant and bars of Makati.check out the article on the exciting Manila's Chaotic Charm. update on the photos of Pangasinan, good news is my friend kept a copy of my photos of Tondol but it may take some time for me to get it. hopefully within the week.
wow nice pic. its good that our country is being featured in cnn. they posted a really nice pic too..
a lot of tourist including MJ loves seeing jeepney especially that colorful one in your post. and oh, manila jeepney on CNN, nice! looking forward for tondol series.
What a flambouyant jeepney!
reminds of my brief visit to intramuros in 1987.(pagkadugaya na!)nice pa rin ang manila cathedral....
that is a very nice photo. pang tourism poster.
despite the chaos, garbage, and all the bad things said about manila... it still is a very beautiful city. you just know where to go...
something positive. nice
There are other capital cities that actually are more chaotic than Manila but the bad reputation it gets is usually generated by bad local and syndicated news reporting.
Interesting! Thanks for sharing this. :)
wow, what a colorful jeep! hehehe...
How colorful! I rarely see jeepneys as colorful as this. :)
It's good CNN picked up the better side of Manila. Tama nga naman. We may not be as well maintained as Singapore, but we have something to offer that others can not -- a wild urban jungle. Hehe.
I always love the jeep. They are so well decorated. Do they still decorate the jeep with horses? I remember during my last trip in the 80s, the local guide told us the horses represented the driver's wife. If the jeep has two horses meant the driver has two wives, is it true? I think he is joking about it cause I spotted one jeep has 7 horses...lol.
nice article - thanks for sharing :) I haven't been to Intramurous in years !
I like the fusion of chaotic and charm title...
evidently, SARAO JEEPNEY is one of a kind and indeed one the Philippines significant landmark! "CHAOTIC CHARM" seems to be a interesting words. Thus, this tagline connotes something to look forward to while experiencing the chaotic charm of MANILA!
The famous Phil's limo, hehehe...btw, love the posts below this one. And oh that's sad to have lost your file. It's still best to keep copies online (file hosting). Hope you do recover some of your old shots.
it is true that many people in my town think of jeepneys first when they remember their holiday in Manila
Now THAT's color! Great shot.
yey! glad to hear your friend has copies pa of the pangasinan pics! :)
would it be ok to utilize your blog in my future quests? please say yes!
glad to know that your friend still has the copies of the pictures.
wow! ganda naman ng jeep na yan.
I remember Details and Wallpaper doing a feature on the Philippines a couple of years back. If you look beyond the filth and the pollution, Manila's pretty cool. I went to CCP the other day. God, it's so beautiful there. =)
Very interesting. I hope your photos can be definitely recovered.
You know what would make riding the jeepney more fun, less pollution. My wife and I commuted a short distance via jeepney last Thurday (no use using the car when the streets are flooded) and I can barely breathe.
Is it just me or the Philippines has been getting a lot of attention lately? Anthony Bourdain came over, so did Bobby Chin. I've seen the Philippines get featured a few more times in the Discovery Channel too. Then now CNN. Finally!!
