i remember buying six copies of the first issue of ROAM magazine, giving out to some bloggers who i met in Iloilo and Bacolod. now comes the second issue and this time i'm giving three magazines courtesy of ROAM Magazine.
the second issue highlights the best of roadtrips on the Northern part of the island of Luzon entitled the Northern Spin. from the surfing spots of La Union, the raging waters of Cagayan, to the awesome Cordilleras. this magazine captured each moment of the trip based on the travelers personal experience. i finished this part in one read.
plus a jam-packed travel stories of Bicol's not-so-hidden secrets, the mysteries of Indochina's culture, and the ever thrilling sights of Batanes. i like the Hit the Road Jack portion, as i usually experience it on my own travel experience.
you'll have the chance to have it for free by simply sharing your most memorable roadtrip experience. the place won't matter much because we will base it on the experience. so just post your entries in the comment section.
this time, i requested ROAM magazine's staff to do the judging. we will be giving out three magazines of this issue to the three best roadtrip experience. it is open to all and each blogger is only entitled to one entry.
we will limit this to those who are in the Philippines but if you're outside the country, you can still submit your entry. if in case you win, you can choose who to give it to, who's in the Philippines. deadline of submission for this contest will be on July 2, 2009 11:59pm.thanks to ROAM magazine! visit www.roammag.multiply.com and www.octobereighty.com

hmmm...i have lots to share but there's one that's very memorable. let me gather my thoughts first and organize them into a worthy entry. hahaha...
most memorable road trip...
December 1999, First year college. My first ever road trip. We went to Laguna initially for a school project but then turned out to be a bonding session with people who turned out to be very good friends in the end.
with my travel buddies, i had one of the best road trip. we roam the whole laguna for 3 days. considering we dont have a car. as in commute galore. we started at the rizal side of laguna using the zigzag road of rizal. we went down to siniloan then pakil which i can say is the most rustic places of laguna. had an stopover at paete, the most beautiful community ive ever seen in terms of heritage sites. had over night at pagsanjan. then to liliw and majayjay, where we had an overnight. the chill of majayjay was so awesome.
then off to heritage site of laguna the famy and victoria then to LB where we savor the hot spring of the places then go home...
too bad we miss the san pablo lakes.
we are planning a bicol road trip soon...

roadtrip.
nakasakay sa kuliglig,

sa gitna ng bukid,
tapos maliligo sa patubigan.
alak, baraha, sounds, mj...
sarap..

Where can I buy Roam?
Every road trip is generally an exciting one specially if it's to the beautiful spots of the Phils.
bigla ko tuloy na miss pilipinas:(
All road trips are memorable. But I'll just mention one. Memorial Day weekend 2006, road trip to Oregon. It's summertime road trip. Our first stop was Crater Lake. Imagine my astonishment when at the entrance of the park, it was like I landed in Narnia. We were unprepared for the snow that was still covering the ground in Crater Lake NP. See for yourself how unprepared we were. Here's my husband caught off guard by the wintry landscape:

Nice!!! Uhmmmm.. isip muna .. hehe
wow! ayos to dongho. galing naman.
My most memorable road trip was in Quezon province. It was an extreme adventure since the road was rough and rocky for a jeepney topload ride. I can just imagine now how adventurous I was in my younger years, unmindful of any danger in our trip. Some folks warned us also that some bandits were hiding in a nearby mountain. But we dared because our mind were set to see the beach and we proceeded then to Cagsiay. And what a breathtaking moment when we finally reached the destination. It was all worthy to have faced the challenges in getting there, to have witnessed such wonderful island, untouched and unexploited.
we had this trip way back april 2004...our first destination is.. as always baguio coz its summer....on our 3rd day in baguio...we decided to go to ilocos, vigan to be exact...so on the ff morning the day way to vigan...i woke up not feeling well...so im thingking twice not to go...but my feet is still unstoppable...so i still go..omg its a 3 hour trip, and would u imagine that 3 hour trip sobrang na wi-wiwi ako...duh!!!when we got der.we went to this famous church, sorry i forgot the name..its so amazing coz its already antique...and the happiest part of that trip is ofcourse foodtrip.we went to the market to buy bagnet and vigan longganisa..and lastly we ate vigan empanada and pudding as well..to top with that riding kalesa is very relaxing i felt like im in to an old movies...so to speak in just one day i experienced another era...amazing coz i feel better that day,,good thing i follow my feet...vow...
I have a lot of roadtrips, hhhmmm...all memorable pero am just too busy right now, hahahah...thanks for the visit dong and nice catch and contest. Hope the best of them win the game. :)
hindi kasi ako masyadong gala
]wala tuloy akong ma-share....

My most memorable road trip took place in Ilocos Sur way back in 2004. As urbanites, my friend and I decided to ROAM the rural nooks. We went down to the delta of the Abra River and just looked in awe with the magnificent view of the Banauang Bridge. We also stopped at a deserted beach and we even trespassed a private property to get to a dilapidated port in Sta Maria.
The most thrilling part of that joyride was when we went up a road leading to the Province of Abra. When we reached the provincial boundary, we were greeted by a military checkpoint. Apparently, there had been a series of NPA ambush attacks, so we had no choice but to retreat back home. But it didn’t end there because we got lost on our way home.
That one-day road trip was an emotional roller coaster.
I remember your first post on the magazine. Now it's in its second edition. Best wishes.
finally!!! I can't wait to have my second copy :-)
I fell in love with their maiden issue, especially their story about the Luneta photographers who are slowing succumbing to obscurity...
I love ROAM!
road trip....sige I'll think about it.
This is fn dong :)
I'm taking the 'roadtrip' literally here. :)
My most memorable road trip would be the Mt. Pinatubo roadtrip via 4x4.

wow gaganda mga pics sa mag!
even picturing a magazine, you know how to make it look amazing...
Awesome post!
I always visit Guimaras whenever I feel depressed, exhausted and stressed. It is just a 15 minutes by motorboat or ferry from Iloilo Parola & Ortiz wharf. I always visit the Our Lady of the Philippines- Trappist Monastery and trek the Balaan Bukid during Holy week in Jordan and go to Alubihod Beach to have a dip. I always loved to ride on the tricycle rooftop. The most recent and memorable Guimaras road trip I had was when my officemates and I went to Buenavista, Guimaras. We were able to ROAM around the whole municipality for just 4 hours. We had late lunch on the beach, swimming, visited my officemate's new home and harvensted some kalamansi and cashew. I can go to Guimaras anytime I want but it's always more cool to be with some friends having great time and share the happy moment together.
I hope the mag succeeds!

thank you all for participating! contest is officially closed. i will submit the entries to ROAM for judging and hopefully i'll be able to post the result during the weekend.
Sayang, naabutan ako ng deadline. Will try to post earlier in your next contest.
Roam sounds like an interesting magazine. I'm very interested in their Batanes feature. I've been meaning to go there for the longest time. Is Roam monthly or quarterly?
It was a last minute decision for me to join... Instead of going to work, I decided to tag along... We were three in the car. Mother Shrek was driving. I am in charge for photos and the laptop and the foods. Unfortunately, the camera reached its memory full so I have to transfer all the pictures to the laptop first.. It took me almost 45 minutes to transfer so I missed all the scenic view going there... We were stopped in one checkpoint maybe because they noticed a lady driver not to mention she's too white... They even tried to trick us but nanay had her own tactics which eventually left them freed us. When we arrived at the place, Nobody knows where we were going so we had few turns before we really reached our destination. When we met the person we were looking for, he was actually a relative of the politicians governing the place. We just had our lunch with him since our time was very limited. But despite these, we know we build good relations with him. We had a short tour of the place before we went back home. We rush back to the city since we still have lots of important things to attend but along the way andaming aberya... We were exhausted but we still managed to accomplish our tasks for the day... We just had our dinner and went back to our respective homes... SO why was it memorable?! Well aside from the places we've been to, it was our first time to travel together to a place we've never been to.. the only thing we know was we should be there and a few information about going there... Surprisingly, what we had was far more than what we expected... We learned new traits among ourselves...jijijijiji... haba noh?! parang ala namang sense... jijijiji
i have never been in a road trip in my entire life :-(
i wish i could someday before i die atleast. due to financial situation i cannot go on a road trip.
bro where can i buy the roam magazine?
The best road trip i aver have was my way from Cebu through leyte bicol province during our STEP competition. Wow i have seen enough that i am not so lucky to have no copy of pictures. Memory is in my mind only. waaaaaaaahhhhh Sana maka pasyal uli ako d2
