finding east - cagbalete island
after thirty minutes, we followed a path and ended in a place surrounded by bushes and coconut trees. we declared ourselves officially lost in the island of Cagbalete. upon arriving at Sabang port, we journeyed our way for a thirty-minute walk to reach the East coast. we passed by walkways walled by wooden houses of this small island village of Sabang. people here looks used to seeing visitors as they would give us a smile, as a way to welcome the visitors. a typical Filipino trait. we then reached the end of the village and we were now following a path to the bushes of seemingly plain and flat island. we asked the people how to go to the resort, where we are to stay, and their answer was always "just follow the signage". signage were placed on coconut trees but it was still confusing as on some areas, most of the signage are already largely damaged. but we felt that it was still safe to follow the cleared path.we reached a part where the path was swampy, which gave us an idea that it's definitely the wrong way. so we took the other route and continued our way. after walking several minutes, we noticed that we were already in a dead end path. from there, we realized that we're lost.since we knew that we are going to the East side of the island, we continued our way passing over bushes without the path. in short, we decided to just use the natural way of finding East. still after quite some time, we still don't see the beach. all we see were more coconut trees but we persisted as we know we're going East. this time we saw this small house and the villagers informed us that we were just steps away from the beach. just behind the trees revealed to us a stunning long flat coast of white sand beach. we finally reached the Eastern side of the island but we still need to find the resort where we will be staying. from there we thought we've already seen the best of this island. wait till the next post comes.

Josmeh, abentyur talaga!
Is there a bangka for hire from the dock to the resort? I don't think my husband and I can do this anymore. Or rather, we're not willing to do this anymore — at least not on a vacation! :)
Interesting part of your journey is getting lost hehehe..but some how your are safe.
Have a pleasant journey ahead.

Wow looked like a long road to the resort. I think I would panic if I could not find the way to the resort....lol. Looking forward to your photos.
Nag visit ka sa home town ko and my favorie island. I used to live there for 1 year and my mother teach there for almost 9 years.
I missed the island. I study there for 1 yr that is my grade 5 and it was so clean and so mistique that time. I am still haunted by the memory if this island even though there are many beaches in Cebu.

Wow, nice beach! Walang sinabi ang Boraracay! :-)
Adventure ah! So what was the natural way of finding East? Wearing your clothes inside out? :D
This happened to some of my friends when we were at some island in Negros Oriental. They were off to buy beer, and ended up walking in circles. They wore their shirts inside out to repel the "malignos" and eventually they found the right path. :D
ang ganda ng pilipinas! yang ang mamimissd ko! whew
Yung photos lang ang binasa ko, hehe
Sanay ako sa mga ganitong place nung bata ako.. I appreciate simple things and place like this, maganda pa rin..
Yan pala wala sa album ng Comboboyz. Dapat may title track tayo na "Lost". Lol.
I bet they are anticipating the beautiul wide shoreline of Cagbalete. I am too.
the paths looks very familiar, I can still remember them as if I just went there yesterday
Remember he Lost Boys from Peter Pan film? It was like them seeking the treasure. From the look of the beach, that's like a hidden treasure. Must be worth getting lost. I can't wait to see the photos in the next post! =)

that's a hell of a grassland before you get to the main beach area----it's like finding treasure in the most unexpected place----
more more! haha
I love Cagbalete from the pics posted by you and Allan. I wish i could have the chance to come and be awed by this place.
It's good you went there during summer. Kung tag-ulan, siguradong ang putik ng daan.
But its all worth it by just seeing those white sand.
dong! just bouncing back. edit mo naman ang link ko o, please? back to zero na naman ako but i wanna keep my favorite blogsites and that includes you. salamat dude!
This is paradise! Developers who see this would love to build resorts on it. :)
Hala naligaw kayo. Naging mas adventure ang nangyari. At least, nakarating kayo agad. Bitin.. hehehe. am looking forward tot he next post. Excited ako to see what cagbalete will offer.
i wouldn't mind getting lost
kung ganyang kagandang beach naman ang reward
Follow the signage! My mom used to say "just around the corner and we are there"! That look like a lovely journey.
That looks like a beautiful place to be lost. I love the look of the houses in the first shots.
Lovely huts and beautiful beach photos!
Only in the Philippines - signs on coconut trees! I love it. You have found paradise.
