scarp slopes of laur - nueva ecija

after that long trip to Nueva Vizcaya we traveled back to Cabanatuan to sleep overnight at Lawstude's house before we set out for our next destination. the next day, Lawstude prepared our breakfast assisted by his mother. the weather was still gloomy and continued to drizzle. we were hoping that the weather will get better the time we reached Dingalan. estimated travel time was two hours from Cabanatuan. this time Lawstude's brother in law drove our way there along with Orlan.when we reached the municipality of Laur, which is still part of Nueva Ecija, we were stunned by the beautiful mountain range of the Sierra Madre. part of the mountains were covered with clouds.
rice fields on both sides of the road making it look like we were in Vietnam. we stopped several times to capture the scenic mountains. weather was getting better on this part of our trip.it was in this town of Laur that the former senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr. and Jose Diokno was exiled for twenty two days during the Marcos' administration.the scarp slopes of hills fully covered with grass was in full view from both sides of the road. i really wish that we will be able to trek one of those hills.check out Lawstude post of the Laur mountain site here. he'll be taking a short break.

[what you shouldn't miss there]>>>
the mountain view along the way.

[why i should go back] >>> to trek one of the hills of Laur.

nice mountain pics.

So lush and green, what a magnificent sight. The fog adds a bit of "chill" to the atmosphere. Really coold post, again.

Nueva!!! :D I'm a proud Novo Ecijano. :) We don't have too many "scenery" and beaches.. but I still think nueva's really pretty and homey. Love your own of course. :) Another place I'd like you to visit is my other province.. Mt. Province. :D

>hi mayyang, i drive to province will surely be a perfect activity to escape the busy streets of manila! salamat!

>photo cache, thanks! we were actually lucky to have seen the fogs touching the mountains. it was drizzling when we were there.

>hi bluerose, that's true! that's why i really need to go back and hike up those one of the hills.

>hi cza, didn't know you're a nove ecijano like lawstude. the central areas of nueva ecija is plain yet when you reach the northeast and southeast of it, you'll be amazed.

i'll definitely be visiting mountain province this year. your relatives seem to have came from beautiful provinces. i really like the cordillera region.

Very beautiful place to be in. The misty look on the top of mountain looked lovely and it must be very cold. Isn't it nice to have good company while travelling. Have a nice week ahead.

Huh... I think the mountain ranges of Sierra Madre look like the countryside in Vietnam, not the other way around! LOL

Wow. It's nice to see the better views of Ecija. I had some bad memories of that province kasi eh. There were too many tricycles in Cabanatuan! And my dog almost got lost. I though I lost her forever!!
Hehe.

Cute hills..very wrinkly..:)

Brrr! It must have been very cold when those shots were taken.

I love the shots of the cloudy mountainside. I imagine reaching out and touching those fluffy clouds.

>hi rayts, true. it's really difficult to get a nice shot when its gloomy. buti na lang maganda ang lugar.

we didnt plan of trekking because we never thought mountains there were as beautiful. it gives us a reason to go back.

>hi alicesg, it was not that cold just good enough for us to enjoy the whole trip without using the aircon. lucky to have lawstude as a travel buddy.

>hi bw, yes. we did! good views+good friends=perfect trip.

>hi grace, thanks! sweet smell of green.

>victor, you haven't seen much of the country yet. you really have to visit the philippines.

>hi shawie, thanks! green indeed.

>hi hilda, yes it is.

>hi joy, thanks!

>hi reena, that's indeed a sad experience. luckily we really didnt encounter all those tricycles because the house of lawstude is away from the central area and that we were always leaving the place early. i suggest that you visit the northeast and southeast area of nueva ecija.

>hi rachel, climate was just fine during that time. trekking up those mountains will be one exciting activity there.

>hi teacher vic, yes. nueva ecija has areas with almost endless eice fields. the mountains are part of the sierra madre. it's worth the wow!

>hi atticus, hahaha... byufuful!

>spool artist, ganda nga. pwedeng pwede magshooting.

>hi aisha, looking at it was really not enough. trekking it would be adventure. thanks!

>hi cza, i'll take note of that. yan ang hinahanap ko sa internet. salamat sa info. planuhin namin yan.

>hi nanay belen, yaman talaga. rice bowl sila ng luzon.

>hi sandy, why not for real? it's still cheap to get around the philippines.

>oman, hahaha... ikaw pala nagluto nun.

>hi acey, the place alone is already a wonder. thanks!
