after that long trip to Nueva Vizcaya we traveled back to Cabanatuan to sleep overnight at Lawstude's house before we set out for our next destination. the next day, Lawstude prepared our breakfast assisted by his mother. the weather was still gloomy and continued to drizzle. we were hoping that the weather will get better the time we reached Dingalan. estimated travel time was two hours from Cabanatuan. this time Lawstude's brother in law drove our way there along with Orlan.when we reached the municipality of Laur, which is still part of Nueva Ecija, we were stunned by the beautiful mountain range of the Sierra Madre. part of the mountains were covered with clouds.
rice fields on both sides of the road making it look like we were in Vietnam. we stopped several times to capture the scenic mountains. weather was getting better on this part of our trip.it was in this town of Laur that the former senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr. and Jose Diokno was exiled for twenty two days during the Marcos' administration.the scarp slopes of hills fully covered with grass was in full view from both sides of the road. i really wish that we will be able to trek one of those hills.check out Lawstude post of the Laur mountain site here. he'll be taking a short break.
[what you shouldn't miss there]>>> the mountain view along the way.
[why i should go back] >>> to trek one of the hills of Laur.
mountain view: 4.0
historical background: 2.5
oh ayan! ako nauna! hahaha
I cant imagine kung gaano kalamig dyan! grabe ang ganda ng mga slopes, its nice to think na lalakarin mo yung pataas ng bundok para magpapicture sa tuktok. wish ko lang ganun kadali :)
lupit ng fog. hehehe
wow! ang ganda naman ng view!..
*hope to see that in person.. pano naman kasi d2 sa manila puro usok ang nakikita mo..heheh...
ang galing ng pagkakakuha!
I love the mountain view... Ang ganda nga!
nice mountain pics.
So lush and green, what a magnificent sight. The fog adds a bit of "chill" to the atmosphere. Really coold post, again.
Nueva!!! :D I'm a proud Novo Ecijano. :) We don't have too many "scenery" and beaches.. but I still think nueva's really pretty and homey. Love your own of course. :) Another place I'd like you to visit is my other province.. Mt. Province. :D
>bryan, nauna ka nga. malamig kasi medyo umaambon pa nung time na yon. ganda ng mga bundok sa laur at talagang ang sarap akyatin. siguradong maganda yung view sa taas. tingin ko may daan pataas naman yata na hindi ganun kahirap.
>hi mayyang, i drive to province will surely be a perfect activity to escape the busy streets of manila! salamat!
>hi sheng, mas maganda pag nakita mo ito mismo sa byahe.
>gillboard, ito pala katapat natin doon. hehehe...
>photo cache, thanks! we were actually lucky to have seen the fogs touching the mountains. it was drizzling when we were there.
>hi bluerose, that's true! that's why i really need to go back and hike up those one of the hills.
>hi cza, didn't know you're a nove ecijano like lawstude. the central areas of nueva ecija is plain yet when you reach the northeast and southeast of it, you'll be amazed.
i'll definitely be visiting mountain province this year. your relatives seem to have came from beautiful provinces. i really like the cordillera region.
Beautiful pictures! Grabe ang tandem nyo ni Lawstude! Kakabilib!
although not very much conducive for photography, i love this kind of weather. ganda ng mga bundok dito at ang view, lush green talaga. umakyat ba kayo ng bundok? hehe. parang ang gandang i-explore.
Very beautiful place to be in. The misty look on the top of mountain looked lovely and it must be very cold. Isn't it nice to have good company while travelling. Have a nice week ahead.
Great shots :) Looks like you had a swell time chilling with Lawstude in this trip !
foggy! I can almost smell the green grass. I miss it. :)
Good pictures, Dong.

I like the trip rate feature.
..."the municipality of Laur, which is still part of Nueva Ecija, we were stunned by the beautiful mountain range of the Sierra Madre. Part of the mountains were covered with clouds.
Rice fields on both sides of the road making it look like we were in Vietnam."
Huh... I think the mountain ranges of Sierra Madre look like the countryside in Vietnam, not the other way around! LOL
wow...naks...speechless ako dong sa pics na to.... very nice....full of Nature....hehehehe
good tandem u have,....hahahhaa
I like your pics with the mountain touching the cloud. This seems like a great place to visit during summer time. :-)

Wow. It's nice to see the better views of Ecija. I had some bad memories of that province kasi eh. There were too many tricycles in Cabanatuan! And my dog almost got lost. I though I lost her forever!!
Cute hills..very wrinkly..:)
Brrr! It must have been very cold when those shots were taken.
I love the shots of the cloudy mountainside. I imagine reaching out and touching those fluffy clouds.
i'm amazed at medyo maberde pa ang kabundukan natin, ha
maganda pala dyan
saka astig makakita ng mga palayan
the endless "palayans"... that reminds me of nueva ecija! :)
is that sierra madre? madre de dios!!! WOW! nice! nice! nice! :)
Yay for you!

It's really beautiful! The mountain is just amazing! So nice to be closer in one. You have taken great shots, Dong.
my mom is from nueva ecija. and what i enjoy most whenever we pay our relatives a visit here is the GOOD FOOD!! Nakakataba tong lugar na to. =p
The view is just fantastic! The clouds hanging above and in the middle of the mountains was just a sight to behold. Hope I can go visit that part of Pinas someday. :-)
Oooh.. you should try visiting Mt. Province on April. Lang-Ay festival will be on the 1st week of April I think. I might be there that week too.. =D
Ang ganda ! bundok at palayan. Mayaman talaga sa kalikasan ang Nueva Ecija
As always, I look at these pictures and wish I could fly there in my dreams.

>hi mimi, hindi ko masyadong napansin yon. hehehe... sarap talaga kaya lang ang haba ng sierra madre kaya mahabang byahe ang kailangan.
>kosa, ganda nga dun.
>dennis, salamat. sana makasama ka din namin sa byahe.
>hi rayts, true. it's really difficult to get a nice shot when its gloomy. buti na lang maganda ang lugar.

>hi grace, thanks! sweet smell of green.
>victor, you haven't seen much of the country yet. you really have to visit the philippines.
>dakilang islander, ako din dati naririnig ko lang. ganda talaga at mahaba itong sierra madre.

>hi hilda, yes it is.
>hi joy, thanks!
>hi reena, that's indeed a sad experience. luckily we really didnt encounter all those tricycles because the house of lawstude is away from the central area and that we were always leaving the place early. i suggest that you visit the northeast and southeast area of nueva ecija.
>hi rachel, climate was just fine during that time. trekking up those mountains will be one exciting activity there.
>raft3r, maganda nga ang mga bundok doon. sana dadami pa ang mga puno sa mga bundok ng pinas. ayos nga tumambay sa mga palayan.

>hi atticus, hahaha... byufuful!
>spool artist, ganda nga. pwedeng pwede magshooting.
>hi aisha, looking at it was really not enough. trekking it would be adventure. thanks!
>pao, taga dyan pala nanay mo. tama masarap nga pagkain doon. siguradong natikman mo na yung special na tyoriso nila na may bawang.
>dyosa, sana nga. ganda kasi talaga doon. abangan mo rin ang dingalan.

gloomy weather makes for moody photos. mas gusto ko pa nga ganyan ang weather minsan :). great photos Dom!
Ilang oras (or araw) kaya ang aabutin bago mo maakyat yung isang burol? Nakakatakot yung slope nya.

I really had a beautiful experience with the place and with the people when I was there last April this year. I hope I could visit there again.
if you want to go that place go to nauzon, and take somebody to escort you going to DAPLIS its a kind of falls beautiful falls kaya lang puro bato...enjoy..
there's another way going to nauzon, take a jeep from cabanatuan going to maligaya its a place of INC. all residents ay iglesia ni cristo..maganda don paanan na ng bundok..near fort magsaysay.then try to step up to the hill..very nice view..
Nice, I grew up here. hehe. We also have a house at Dingalan, aurora. hehe
