snap shop - boracay island

one can't go home from Boracay without a souvenir. so i can't end the Boracay series without showing you things that you can buy in the island.as i once posted, shopping in Boracay is not a problem as the island's main beach has an area for shoppers. main shopping area is the D'Mall while you can also find cheaper items at D'Talipapa.the cheapest souvenirs might be the key chains and ref magnets that comes in different colors of sea creatures and shells. there are also some colorful cloth lanterns.even along the beach way you'll find items being sold, most of which are wooden crafts. mostly made by the locals from Kalibo.if you didn't had enough time during the day as you were enjoying the sun, most shops are open until night time. mall shops sells beach wears and some memorabilia.it all depends on your budget as you want to bring some items to remember on your visit in this island.

It's really nice looking at the photos you have posted as they all are so warm and colourful! Photoblogs from Europe and North America are getting very monotonous this time of the year as most shots are grey and white...

First of all, the photos in the last entry are all unbelievable!

Lawstude said...

key chains and ref magnets are indeed the cheapest. yan lang yata nabili ko pasalubong doon eh hehehe. 8 for Php 100 is a real bargain. Sabi ko sa mga officemates ko, it is the thought the counts lol.

goodluck on your sagada trip. ingat and regards sa Lingkod.

Whenever I go to Boracay, I seldom don't shop. Maybe it's because their merchandise is also as expensive as the ones here in Manila. But I have to admit that the shops also sell very nice goods. If ever I do buy something, it's almost always the keychains or the white shirts with Boracay print in front that usually sells for P200-300. :-)

dyosa said...

pardon my grammar. I've been meaning to say "I seldom shop." Antok na ako eh. hehe.

>hi sheng, hehehe... fridge magnets has always been people's favorite choice because it's cheap. the cloth lanterns are quite bulky i agree.

>hi faery, yes it is. it also means that you've been there for quite some time now.

thanks for dropping by.

>pao, those masks really have good quality making it very attractive. if you enjoy party and people, you'll love boracay.

>borneo, that's something that i like with d'mall there and it's open till night time.

>hi sandy, colorful souvenirs of the islnad.

>hi alicesg, you can check out cheap flights to the philippines. i believe south east asian nations has open flights at cheaper price.

>hi maya, sayang naman pero ok lang at least may 2010 pa naman. sure just inform me when you'll be in manila and it would be a privilege to see you.

>jm, as much as you enjoy photoblogs in the tropical areas, we too enjoy the snows in the pictures from your continent as we don't experience it here.

>hi joy, hahaha... shops there are making a lot of money from tourists and they have a living.

>hi vic, shopping is one thing you can enjoy there while strolling.

i saw your photo. hahaha... gabi nga lang kuha mo dun. mas maganda nga sya pag gabi.

>hi aquamarine, wow talaga! i agree very creative nga ang mga pinoy kaya pwede tayo umasenso dyan sa larangan na yan. you're welcome.

>phivos, that's if you love shopping.

>photo cache, that's a nice collection specially for people who goes to a lot of countries.

for some items you can haggle but as for the ref magnets and key chains, you can just ask them to ask a piece or two for free after buying it in bulk.

>hi aisha, you won't have a hard time buying there as they are available in shops within the area. you'll definitely enjoy.

>hi chyng, you said it right. it's like bringing greenhills mall in the beach.

>hi dyosa, hahaha.. you're right. actually abou revealed something here that those keychains were actually made in manila.

it's good that you were able to buy some shirts as well. price is quite reasonable.

>victor, i like that too. but i didnt had enough money to buy it during that time.

>hi luna, bawal ata yon. not sure. hehehe... pinong pino kasi.

>eel wind, yes they are. so you're afraid of lizards. hehehe... thanks for dropping by my blog.

>tawidtayo, salamat. sure adding you on my blogroll.

pasalubong shopping
hehe

atticus said...

when i see key chains i remember a friend who's exasperated with that kind of pasalubong.

wala akong magagawa. biyaheng tipid ako lagi eh.

I bought lots of those ref magnets, some beaded accessories and a set of pearls last time I was at Bora.

My mil's hubby said he doesnt want to come back to boracay because he wanted to preserve the memory he has of it then...unadulterated :)

Nevertheless, I would still go whatever or however it looks now, I just thought it would have been cleaner back then...perhaps closer to paradise.

I always enjoy your beach photos , with blue and contrasting colors....whew!
