i am filipino - sunset in boracay island

as the sun goes down, people in Boracay flock to the beach shore to catch its most thrilling moment. to see the beautiful sunset.as i show you the photos, let me also share to you sir Alexander Lacson's poem "I am Filipino". he is the author of the book "12 Little Things Every Filipino Can Do to Help Our Country". he emailed me this poem last November after i featured him here in my blog and i told him that i'll be posting it here.I am Filipino. I am a child of the One God who is the Creator of all that is in our world and the universe. I am as perfect and as beautiful as my Creator planned and wanted me to be, for my God created me in His image, out of His perfect love.I am Filipino. I am a beloved child of God, like everyone else in our world, and no less than the stars above and anyone else below. As such, I have equal right and claim to all the beauty and bounty that God provided in my country and in the world.

I am Filipino. My Creator planted and destined me for a specific spot on earth, where the sun always shines beautifully, in an archipelago of 7,107 wonderful islands, which the whole world calls the “Pearl of the Orient”. Pilipinas is the land and the country God gave to me and my people. This is the birthplace of my race. This is the home of the Filipino.I am Filipino. The beauty and richness of my country lured many mighty powers of the world to invade our shores. So today, my blood is a mixture of the best and the finest of the west and the east. My mind is an heir to all the great thoughts of the west, and the great virtues of the east. My heart beats the romanticism of the west and the passion of the east.I am Filipino. Today, my country is home to many tongues and cultures, to many colors and faiths. Today, my country is a haven to all types of peoples who come from various corners of the earth, who try to live with each other, in an atmosphere of liberty and harmony.I am Filipino. My Creator destined me to belong to a smaller part of humanity – the Filipino family. I am therefore a brethren, a kapatid, to anyone and everyone who is Filipino, whoever and wherever he or she may be in our world.I am Filipino. You will know me by the word “po” in my sentences. You will know my children by their “mano po”, our tradition of children paying respect and honor to their parents and elders. You will know me by my sunny smile that is always on my face. You will know me by the warmth of my hospitality. But most important of all, you will know me by my loving and caring heart when you are in need of my help, even if you are a stranger.I am Filipino. I am part of the family of humanity. I am therefore a brethren to all the men and women of our world. I am a kapatid of all Christians, of all Muslims, of all Jews, of all Buddhists, of all Hindus, and all other peoples whose faiths lie somewhere else.I am Filipino. I am who I am today because of the role God wants me to play.

I am Filipino. My Creator made me exactly the way I am, so I can sow God’s seeds of love in many parts of the world, so I can help humankind live more harmoniously as one family, so I can help the world become a better place for all humanity.I am Filipino. As a beloved child of God like everyone else, my Creator has a beautiful story for me and my people. And the story we see today is but a fleeting portion of that beautiful story that has yet to fully unfold before the eyes of the world.I am Filipino. God planted seeds of beauty and greatness in me, for He truly wants me to great and beautiful, for God truly wants me to add more beauty and greatness to our world.I am Filipino. God wants me to be the best person I can ever be. He truly wants me to be as successful and as prosperous and happy as I can ever imagine. And He has equipped me, within me and around me, with all the essentials I need to attain all these so I could become the person God wants me to be.I am Filipino. I am a faithful child of God. And truly, the world has yet to see the full measure of the beauty and greatness of the Filipino. For truly, the world has yet to see what God can do for a child faithfully committed to Him.I am Filipino. I am born of freedom in a free country. I dedicate my freedom to ensuring that my children and country shall always remain free. I shall use my freedom to make other peoples in my country and in the world gain their own freedom.I am Filipino. I am born of love, out of God’s immeasurable love, in a country that needs a lot of love, and in a world that could only become beautiful with a lot of it. Love is the reason for my being. It is what my Creator wants me to bring into this world, so love shall be who I am.I am Filipino. As a child of God, I am here, all too willing to lend my life, to help build a better country for my Filipino family, and a better world for all humanity. I am Filipino.you can check out my online interview of sir Alexander Lacson here. thanks sir Alex.

Hello Dong! Sa wakas napagtanto ko na rin na magkaibang tao si Lawstude at ikaw. lol. Nalito kasi ako, nag comment ako kay lawstude taos nag comment ka bigla sa blog ko. Salamat at napadpad ako dito! Woohoo!

>hi sheng, that's something i dont know. could have chosen one of the sunset there at puka beach. next time. at least now i know. thanks.

>uncleawang, thank you too for dropping by my blog. im also enjoying your photos.

>jasper, hoping to see bodies of water in your posts. hehehe... kung meron lalo na kayo at winter na dyan.

>dennis, thank you. thanks to sir alex for the poem here.

>hi em, thanks a lot! i too am always fascinated with the clouds during sunset.

Hello. Paying u a return courtesy visit, thanks for dropping by my blog. I love the Philippines. Went there on my honeymoon - 1981 to Manila and Baguio. Love the place, the people and the music... I do hope to go again one day.

the clouds are so prominent in the dusk sky......and I notice that the sea is more turbulent too during this time of the year. Then again, just like any good photographer, you were able to capture the drama of it all.....
