Bacolod Cathedral

one of the most beautiful structure in Bacolod city is its cathedral. it was built in 1876 and has survived the Japanese invasion in the 1940s. it's a typical Spanish designed church formed by coral stones. the interior design is beautiful as it displays its classic look of coral stone walls and a modern ceiling design. the lights that makes it stand our from all the other buildings along the road, reminds the people the importance of communing with God. i noticed that people come and go in this cathedral even on weekdays. some offer candles to honor God, some offer prayers and many are offered for thanksgiving.just outside the church is its plaza also filled with people. the city plaza and the church is within the town center of the city making it accessible to many.it's few days from Bacolod's most colorful festival and stalls of the coming Maskara festival are already in place.

I heard mass at this cathedral the last time I went to Bacolod. I was speechless when I saw the high ceilings and the massive structure of the church. I could really feel the sacredness of the building and the ceremony.

Hey Dong...although I am not a Christian, there is always a sense of calm each I visit Cathedrals all over the world and likewise for this post too...stunning :)

wasn't able to shoot the cathedral at night kasi harsh yung lighting but you did a good job here, dom.

yung gazebo sa plaza, i've always been amused by the homage to the great classical composers like beethoven, et al.

looks like you enjoyed your bacolod-silay foray bai kahit na maulan at maulap :-D
