Ateneo De Naga University

it was just my second time to visit Naga City. the last time i was here was two years ago when we went to Legazpi City. we stayed here in Ateneo de Naga University for one night before we went to Legazpi.this school is under the administration of the Society of Jesus. the same order that runs other Jesuit schools and university in the country like the Ateneo de Manila, Ateneo de Zamboanga, Ateneo de Davao and Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro. Ateneo de Naga university was established in 1940.
i've seen Ateneo de Zamboanga, Xavier University and Ateneo de Manila. what i like most in Ateneo de Naga University is its big chapel.it has a big ground, nice facade and a beautiful interior. i'm sure that the students here are blessed to have such a beautiful place to pray. we were able to attend when we were there since the holy mass on Sundays are open to the public and we stayed in the campus for three days and two nights. thanks to Lingkod Naga for hosting our stay there.

yung ateneo de naga simple lang pero may mga sturctures lang na maganda like the chapel.

>kegler, tamang tama pagpunta mo doon.

>hi atticus, ganda nga ng lugar at chapel. medyo tago nga lang ang daan papunta doon.

>hi napaboaniya, thanks! you too have a great week ahead.

i've been here i think three years ago. okey naman. tahimik yung lugar at matatalino ang mga tao.

What a coincidence, I've been watching 'gadgetts'videos on Youtube. The host of the tech show is a priest from the Jesuits.

Again, very very beautiful church. Churches and castles rank very high in terms of likability[for me at least!]

Opsie, there! That me[jessica] in the last comment. Accidentally posted under my cousin's account!

I guess I'm entitled to applaud this post for a second time. ;)

the limited illumination gives the church a very dramatic atmosphere. great shots, dong.

>hi arlene, but it's sad because some students don't use the churches. sometimes they only visit the chapel when they are asking for something.

>hi doc rio, oo nga. medyo mahirap talaga bumyahe pag ganito ang panahon. salamat sa dasal.

>hi nanay belen, maraming salamat.

>ice, salamat! practice practice lang. doon din lang ako natututo.

>abou, oo. nakakagulat nga kasi dati pag sinabing bicol mayon lang ang naiisip ko. ngayon dami din palang pwedeng puntahan at makita.

>wandering commutter, talaga? pero at least may rason ka ding pumunta doon dami mo palang relatives doon.

>hi prinsesamusang, tahimik nga at matitino ang mga tao kasi medyo probinsya pa rin ang dating kahit maasenso na.

>jessica, nice coincidence. the churches are old but are also beautiful. i agree with how you see it.

no problem. with the reposting.

>eye, thanks a lot! i was also lucky to have seen the church at that time when the light was on.

Wow, the building looks really rich in terms of architecture. reminds me of England!

is that in the phil?

btw Dong, nice seeing you at my place today. :)

parang wala pa akong nakitang panget na simbahan dito sa Pinas. i always find reason to appreciate even those that seems to crumble due to old age. but i like centuries old churches the most. i am not a very religious person but i love churches! (nasabi ko na ata dati yun). i love structures and architecture for that matter. there's this feeling of solitude and amicability.

Good shots of the beautiful church.

>hi farah, yes. that's in the philippines. south of luzon in the bicol region.

thanks for dropping by.

>hi rayts, ako din. gustong gusto ko rin ang mga simbahan sa pinas kahit gaano pa ka simple.

pero importante talaga sa isang lugar na may simbahan para laging may pinupuntahan ang mga tao para magdasal at magsimba.

>redlan, oo malinis talaga doon. nasa loob kasi ng campus kaya well maintained.

>hi rachel, i really hope that you'll be able to visit naga. it's a beautiful place very much like laguna less the big factories. it's good to know that you have a friend who studied there.

>quintarantino, yes it is.

>hi bw, this chapel might not be as old as the ones within naga city but it also has its own charm.

>hi dina, thanks! this is indeed a nice chapel.

You know I never really thought of visiting the Phillipines, but every time I pass by y my wish of knowing such great places grows :) For almost everyone of them I could say:"ang galing galing ng shot na ito!" (as you can see, I'm a fast learner :D:D), but this time, just for the fun of it I'll say it in Portuguese : "Esta é uma fotografia excelente!"
