i think this man is earning a lot from this business. every time i pass by this area, there's always people eating. maybe because street food are sold at very very cheap price.
Yeah, makes sense. All the prices of basic commodities are up. I realized lately that I am spending a lot on food. I really get surprised every time I visit my favorite restaurant. In one of these establishments, I even noticed that they are cutting on the amount of rice even if you are already paying 8 pesos for it. It is serious. What more with ordinary wage earners. This is one proof of that.....
IN the US, "street food" usually means hot dogs and pretzels - although, when I worked on Wall Street, there was a truck that came around and sold soup. What sort of street food are they selling in your photo?
they are not only cheap, they are readily available. of course we are not so sure about their hygenic value but who cares when your stomach is growling of hunger, hehe. fan ako ng mga street foods kase matapang sikmura ko. di lang ako fan ng mga exotic food. this is an interesting angle!
sure it's cheap. but i am scared of getting hepa. it's not that maarte ako at ayaw ko ng street food. health reasons yun. dapat mag ingat. ang panget na nga ng lifestyle ko eh dadagdagan ko pa ang risks! dong mag-ingat ka din!
That's a nice shot. We also have a lot of street food in U.S. cities but it's usually fast and easy, not a sit down mean. That looks like good meals in your shot.
Street food is wonderful besides being cheap, it is the sight, smell and taste everything Dong....Singapore is moving too fast that we don't have any street food ;(
I can think of many but the important thing is how you were able to project the image. We're like peeking through from above. Maybe if we dunk our head deep enough... we will be able to taste that well patronized street food!! YUM!
Hay naku Dong dun sa area namin meron nga dun nakapagpatapos na ng college because of kwek-kwek and isaw eh.
oh, yeah... that business is really good... reminded me of my college days! we always have to go ride in a jeepney (the whole class, lol) after our late night class - 9PM to eat dinner at our fave kamayan restaurant, nakaka miss!
STREET FOOD, hinahanap hanap ko yan dito sa US. yong mga fishball carts, mangga and bagoong, gotohan at pati na rin yong BBQ sa may kanto. and i get to experience all that again this coming dec 2008. na eexcite na akong umuwi!
yeah, looks like he does... hahaha... nyway, yeah i'm stuck in iloilo for the rest of the year... and yeah, i just make those banners in my blog... i'll inttroduce you to a lot of street foods here that i rarely see or don't see in manila at all...=D
I love street food. I sure miss those university days when my friends and I would drive up to Johor Bahru, a city of Malaysia just North of us for supper. It'sreally cheap there too.
Its true, should there be those kinds of streetfood here Id eat some too! (There's pizz and kebap-shawarma) but surely our pinoy streetfood is a lot lot better!
Nice overhead shot. Some of these humble-looking eateries have actually made their hardworking owners quite wealthy. Some of those eateries are gems too in terms of the quality of food.
hindi ba nakakatakot kumain sa iyong kinuhanan? The worst thing about being a nurse is that you actually know what you may get just by merely looking at things! lol
wow, anlaki naman ng tulak-tualk cart nya --- that thing is moveable right? i miss fishballs. and quail eggs. and buttered corn on the cob. and turon!!!
It has this appeal.I have experience it when i visited my cousin in Cagayan de Oro years ago.it was one of the best langoniza bbq I ever had. they look like little ball. And i still dream to do it again.
Prices are really up, perhaps these people patronizing it because it cheaper for them.they don't need to buy in volume & save them time to cook.

Oh, it's nice the fact that people eat at the table where they buy the food: a sort of street restaurant.

umakyat ka ba ng poste? he he.nway, i think konti lang din kita nya. with the expensive raw materials, mahirap na yata maka mark-up ng malaki.
oh, yeah... that business is really good... reminded me of my college days! we always have to go ride in a jeepney (the whole class, lol) after our late night class - 9PM to eat dinner at our fave kamayan restaurant, nakaka miss!

Ano yung nasa picture? Mami at balut? hehehe
That's quite a repast!
i used to eat in a cheap restaurant.. syempre naman, dahil ba naman sa hirap ng buhay..
nasa tao na yan..
pag takot sa hepa why not magpahepa vaccine..? hehe
just be responsible...
Street food can be so enticing but we also need to take a little caution to avoid getting sick.
That place looks well maintained. Maybe that's why he has lots of customers.
Or maybe the foods are really yummy.
I love the adventure of eating at sidewalk food stalls.

as long as you see the food being well cooked, right in front of you, you're safe... :->
Its true, should there be those kinds of streetfood here Id eat some too! (There's pizz and kebap-shawarma) but surely our pinoy streetfood is a lot lot better!

hindi ba nakakatakot kumain sa iyong kinuhanan? The worst thing about being a nurse is that you actually know what you may get just by merely looking at things! lol
I eat street food depending on the area. Sometimes we have to make sure that there is a good hygiene (at least)where it is situated.
The only difference is the vendors practiced hygiene. Sana ganyan din sa atin.
BTW donG, I passed a blog award to you. You may claim it here.
maganda ang pwesto. hehe.
wow, anlaki naman ng tulak-tualk cart nya --- that thing is moveable right? i miss fishballs. and quail eggs. and buttered corn on the cob. and turon!!!
