front seat
taking the front seat of a jeepney will give you the best view when traveling. but maybe the best view from this seat is the driver.

good candid post! If you observe these jeepney drivers, ma amaze ka talaga. They can drive, collect fare, and give change - walang mali. hehehe
We can consider them as our every day heroes, too.
Maybe he didnt want to be distracted?
Maybe he thought you were a cameraman from ABSCBN, doing an undercover job?
Maybe he thought you were from FHM and will put his fotos in the next issue?
Mas ok ang tahimik na driver, at kadalasan, sasakay lang ako sa dyip pag bakante sa harap. Siksikan kasi pag sa likod. hehe
astig talaga ang mga driver,pwera na lang sa mga balasubas. pero hinahangaan ko pa rin sila,kaya naaliw ako minsan pag sa harapan ako umupo may libre pa kasing kwento.hahaha
bakit ba feeling ko mumo yiung driver hehe. nanibago ako sa dilim ng shots. :-)

i agree dong. i miss those days when i was working there in makati na sumasabit ako sa jeep ng naka long-sleeves tapos bigla uulan.

I've been caught up in the house design which has finally been finalised and reno work should begin sometime this week.
I rem the jeepneys being really colourful and fanciful when I was in Manila a few years back. It is truly reflective of the flamboyant character of Filipinos in general.
I remember when I was in high school. Palagi kami sumasakay ng friend ko sa frontseat. Noong college hanggang ngayon ayoko na umupo dun unless kapag pumunta ako sa isang lugar na hindi ko pa napuntahan. Kailangan ko kasi magtanong sa driver kung saan banda. May mga driver na mahilig magkwento. Meron naman concentrated sa byahe niya. Masarap magbyahe kapag gabi at madaling araw. Walang distorbo, hindi ma traffic.

the philippine jeepney are really nice. some looks old while others really looks nice in the streets.

I went to Manila a few times but my filipino friends didn't want me to ride that because they find it too dangerous. duh.
They have never sit in a jeepney, becos they are very wealthy. :)
Some of them will happily chat with you throughout the entire journey filling you with even his family history!! Sometimes it's fun and entertaining, but sometimes quietness to view the scenery will be the choice.

It's ok to engage in a conversation with drivers sometimes.
Kaya lang, many times din, some drivers would talk to you senselessly. Othertimes naman, they'd do it just to segue and ask you for an extra. STYLE!
I hardly sit beside the driver. Nakakatakot most of the time.

I miss the jeepney rides. When we came back to the states my daughter just could NOT understand why she had to go back into a car seat!! :)

I ride jeepney everyday. at ang galing nga nila magmulti tasking. mag drive, tapos ang dami nagbbayad ng sabay sabay. tapos un iba ang sunget pag di pa naaabot ang sukli. wala lang. tapos ang sinasakyan ko jeep un maluwag kasi naisip ko wala pa sya kita. kaya dun na lang ako... di naman ako nagmamadali eh.. =)
Whenever I'm here in Metro Manila I don't ride a jeepney as much as possible because of the pollution but when I'm out of town, the jeepney is my #1 choice :)
I guess it is same with our cab drivers too. Some are very chatty while some are quiet.
Interesting shots. Perhaps the driver was thinking of going home soon to his family. Driving the jeep around can be a tiring job.
