upon checking the bookshops lately, the Lonely Planet's Blue List 2008 caught my attention. this book recommends the world's hottest trends today.
i am not surprised to see the island of Camiguin of the Philippines in the Next Tourist Attraction list of this book. this island has been one of the most promising islands in the archipelago that offers a lot of options for climbers and beach bums.
also on the list is Mt. Pinatubo for the Volcanoes Visiting list. i will never forget when we trek our way up its stunning crater. truly the Philippines is gaining name in the tourist industry today. thanks to Lonely Planet!

I envy you! I envy people who get to travel very often...
Traveling is one of my greatest dreams! If only I have the money and time...
inggit ako kasi may time ka to travel at ako wala... waaahhh!!! inggit din ako kasi you get to travel na parang you are just finding your own way at yan ang trip na trip ko... soon, maggaganun din ako.. traveling and photography
this is a good one para ma expose yung mga magagandang attractions natin dyan sa mga international travellers...
Dong, bakit kaya hindi mo subukang gumawa ng isang libro.naniniwala akong magiging best selling book of all times yun..hehe=)
>hi karen, very cool. maybe soon.
amen to rio...
have you read across the july 8 issue of phil daily inquirer? in its header is the very promising cresta de gallo near the island of sibuyan daw.
its nice...
di mo pa pala naaupdate ang link ko. hehe. am now using islaman.blogspot.com
I always watch "Lonely planet" in National Georgraphic channel. Is this the same people who produced that book?
pag may pupuntahan akong pronbinsya dyan, advise me ha ... hehe
>the islander, naku hindi ko nakita yon. pero alam kong maraming magandang beach doon. nakapunta na ako ng sibuyan at romblon once.
oo nga pala. ayan na update ko na.
>blogusvox, not sure pero iba yata.
>jericho, ayos yan. saan ka ba?
Hay naku Dong, madami pa silang dapat Makita like the Camotes Island na lang eh. However, baka mabawasan ang travel ko now, kasi madami akong projects na dadating.. *sigh*
If I am not mistaken I think Mt Pinatubo erupted and its ashes flew as far as Singapore and Malaysia. Remembered that our cars were covered with ashes from the volcano.
This book is surely meant to "disturb" those who like travelling.... ;D
hey. stopping by to check out your site. you are photo-heavy as well and i've noticed some shots(a couple actually) that i can almost say, "hey i think i took that one..." do we have similar photographic eye? haha. kidding aside, this is a fantastic site. thank you for dropping by my site and leaving a note, otherwise i wouldn't have discovered yours. i 1st saw the "blue list" in bangkok last march but it was too expensive, sa airport kasi. last friday, nakita ko sa national sa megamall. more power. you have been bookmarked. ;->
wow this is great. feature ang pinas!
go pinas!!!!
I think your blog is the blue list!
This is a good opportunity for the Philippines to get "discovered" by young and new travelers.
I have the 2007 edition I belive. HOw's your week bro? I'm taking my first breather for the week and in a few hours time, I'll b playing tennis again. HAha. Have a gd wkend!
Were it not for unscrupulous people in our midst that create the perception that ours is a lawless country, we could have been one of the major tourist destinations in the world today. Given all the beautiful spots across our archipelago, it would have been very easy to attract millions of foreigners (I'm excluding balikbayans) to our shores.
Thanks to the people at Lonely Planet who went the extra mile to discover and report on the beauty of one of our islands.
travel + photography = dream ko rin yan! :)
btw, how much is the book? malamang mahal. hehehe ;)
Very interesting displays! nice!
You're right, thanks to lonely planet. The Philippines is able to attract more tourists.
ay saya naman nyan!
yung book ng beach resorts in phil lang meron ako. tska di ko pa naikot ang pinas kaya next tym na alng muna yang world. hehehe
mahalin ang sariling atin
i went to powerbooks the other day and i didn't see that book. mabalikan nga. :-)
happy and safe travels to you!
>hi equi, dami pa talaga. karamihan hindi pa masyadong kilala. ok lang konti ang byahe para makaipon din para sa mas mahabang byahe.
>hi alicesg, that's right. even australia was affected.
>l.reis, hahaha... right.
>eye, oo nga. napansin ko din yon sa blog mo. salamat sa pagbisita. add na rin kita sa blogroll ko. ok din ang book pero it doesn't serve as a guide more of promoting new places where you can travel and enjoy.
>redlan, salamat sa lonely planet.
>hi acey, go pinas nga!
>hi sandy, thanks!
>hi luna, you're absolutely right! thanks to lonely planet.
>stanley, had a great time planning with my community and a relaxing sunday. can't play tennis as it rained. enjoy the week ahead!
>panaderos, i really agree you on that. that's sad but hopefully we can recover from that soon. i think through ace durano's efforts we are slowly moving forward.
>hi princess dyanie, not sure how much. i just scanned it and had the chance to see the philippines in it. thanks for dropping by.
>luke, thanks!
>hi wedding glitters, thanks to the blue list team.
>kingdaddyrich, hindi naman. wala namang nagsabi. at least na promote yung book.
>hi vanny, meron din ako nun. tama. dapat talaga makaikot muna sa pinas.
>hi dyosa, tanong mo na lang sa information. have a great weekend ahead.
>
I'll have to check out the lonely planet link. Looks interesting.
i also glanced over the blue list and felt proud that pinatubo and camiguin made it. naku dom, dami pang puwede i-include doon :-)
hi carver, you can also check out www.experiencephilippines.ph for some nice philippine destinations.
>oggie, tama ka dyan. kakalungkot lang at konti lang usually ang nilalagay sa pinas but at least nakasama tayo sa blue list 2008 this year.
Interestign places din yang feature. Although, I haven't been to Camiguin, I heard it's also a great place.
Huy!
Wow Camiguin, it's my favorite province in the whole Philippines! Beautiful place with very friendly people, what else will you look for?
ako din hindi pa nakapunta. closest i've been to was cagayan de oro.
>kegler, talaga? ayos pala talaga doon sa camiguin.
