seeing the island

after arriving at the Hagnaya port in San Remegio, we were just in time for the next departure so we immediately boarded the RORO (Roll On Roll Off) Super Shuttle Ferry 3 which will bring us to the island of Bantayan. it will be an hour trip going to Sta. Fe port of Bantayan island. boat fare is P155 or $3.5. fishing is their livelihood here, so you can see large fishing boats lined up on one side of the pier.the ferry departed at 10:35am. there are several trips going there but we were after with this trip as we target to be in the island before 12:00noon. very few people were with us in this trip giving us enough space to even occupy the whole bench that's good for 5people. few people... more space. i like it that way. most of the passengers were foreign and domestic travelers like us.as usual spent time looking at the islands that we were passing by waiting for a view of the island from the ferry. i miss boat trips because the last time i traveled with a ship was more than 2years ago. minutes before the expected time of arrival we can already see the white sandy beach from the horizon. we noticed that the whole coastal stretch is filled with white sand. i can't imagine how this place has been blessed with white sand surrounding its coast. this is definitely something i've been dreaming to see and to live-in in the future.on the right side of the pier is Sta. Fe beach resort and on the left side are small beach resorts. i can't imagine that there are indeed places where a beach resort is located just beside a big pier. maybe because i was imagining the north and south harbor of Manila. the sky was gloomy when we arrived and since we were excited, we were among the first to depart from the ferry. we took a motorcycle ride going to Sugar Beach Resort which is located west of the island. the trip going to the resort completes the island aura. trees and small cottage-like houses occupies the sidewalk.we can't wait to jump and have a splash on the beach. we were so excited to see what was behind these coconut trees as we were approaching the beach. you'll definitely see that on my post tomorrow because it'll be a special day.

so yung magandang view ng white sand beach is bantayan island. Ang bantayan isalnd ba is like bora na isalnd siya tapos may iba't ibang beaches?

I cant wait to see more pics tomorrow specially yung beach pics.

BTW, mas maganda kapag holy week pumunta ng guimaras at umakyat sa holy mountain perfect for photography collection kasi makikita mo ang iloilo city at ang ibang part ng guimaras.

wow! one boat ride na lang at sana nasa negros ka na. do you know that bantayan island eat and cook lechon during holy week? exempted daw sila ng vatican and it's true

escape said...

>redlan, yes. parang bora but this island is bigger. the same thing you can cross the different resorts by walking along the shorelines.

In that island I met some of the most kind people in my journeys. The owner of Jegra John's Resort where we stayed even let us drive his Mitsubishi Adventure for FREE because it was raining.

By the way, your blog header is so cool!

>tapsiboy, yes we did that. just keep in touch in the coming days.

Bantayan Island is beautiful. Aside from the beach, I also love your shots of the trees that line the road going to the resort/beach. Very pretty indeed.

anyway, it's called "indult"---the unique privilege granted by the vatican to bantayan island to eat pork during lent. their lechon parade during semana santa is quite famous.

don't miss malapascua island...you can rent an outrigger boat from bantayan to malapascua. enjoy!

Oh, I love the beach! Too bad, we don't have many of such nice sceneries in Singapore.
