i was searching for a place where different modes of land transportation can be seen. i found Pasay rotonda interesting because people usually transfer from one mode of transportation to another in this crossing. people from the MRT (Metro Rail Transit) transfers to the LRT (Light Railway Transit) some take the bus and the rest takes the jeepney.
when you are in Metro Manila, you need to know what mode of transportation will take you to your destination faster. at peak hours the buses are full, the rail transits are overcrowded making people decide to go home late to avoid heavy traffic.
sometimes the word traffic is misused. road traffic simply means the amount of vehicles passing a particular area. heavy traffic refers to a congested traffic flow.

peak hours = traffic! hahaha... i already experience riding on a overcrowded MRT... and it's so annoying hot! hehehe
huwaw! i love it dong. slow shutter speed!
I have very fond memories of Pasay Rotonda since that's where I used to transfer from the LRT to the jeepneys that will take me to the South Superhighway. I was there almost everyday during my college years. :)
Cool shot! Yes, that's true. This is one of the busiest area in Manila. Glad you visited my blog again. :D
hi lalaine, annoying specially when the train stops everyone is pushed on one side. some people take advantage of this. but what's good is that ladies and disabled people have a special area.
panaderos, really? and this street is getting busier and busier.
hi aisha, thanks! buses that travels to southern and northern luzon are also near this area making it one of the busiest. keep in touch.
cool pics..
dom, kaya di ako tumagal sa manila eh, bcoz of the traffic. there were times before that i spend most of my working hours in the streets of edsa and makati. kakabagot. unlike here in provinces kung saan di ka magsasawa sa roadside views.
I love the slow shutter! very nice couple of shots!
It's very interesting to see where everything connects. Great night time photos!!
Fantastic pictures!
nami pictures mo dong ah! idol ta gid ka! check mo pls. blog ko may bag-o ako didto pictures!... salamat gid!
if you use a slow shutter speed, do you have to adjust the aperture so that it won't end up dark?
dong, keep it up. You have the eye and the talent on your chosen field.Sidney Snoeck needs to pass his baton. You might be that man.
almost on a daily basis i get to take different modes of transport -- tricycle, jeepney, fx, taxi -- except buses. some days commuting is fun; other days it's hell you can lose your mind. and that pasay rotonda is notorious for being so jampacked with feet and wheels it can suffocating, intoxicating. :)
Great shots of the busy street and people waiting to cross the street.
Traffic can be so annoying. It's great that others have the option to take the LRT/MRT.
yeah, traffic is an oft-misused word in the same vein as diet :-) nice long exposure shots dom. looking forward for more. oops, you're going out of town nga pala. perhaps the night scene down south? :-D
well, heavy traffic! part of our life in metro manila. kairita. =(
naalala ko 2loy kagabi when i took a cab from SM Makati. tapos papahatid lang akong makati ave, sinisingil ako ng P150! at ang dahilan ni manong eh traffic na daw kc.. sinagot ko nga 2loy cya ng "Manong lahat ng lugar d2 sa metro manila, traffic!"
sunget! ^_^
ay forgot to tell, inadd nga po pala kita sa links ko.. hope its ok.. ^_^
True. The term "traffic" is always misused. And from the day I knew it, lagi ko nang sinasabing "heavy traffic". :)
Btw, nice shots ah. Super. Love it. LOL.
paol, thanks!
lawstude, hahaha... dami nga talagang ayaw sa manila dahil sa traffic but i already get used to it. sanayan lang. ang sarap ng talaga bumyahe sa probinsya kasi ang linis na ng hangin ang babait pa ng mga tao.
doc rio, parang malas na nga yata talaga pag ganyan. hehehe...
thanks luke!
thanks karen!
thanks emily!
antoine, salamat! sige check ko in a while. hindi ko na inadjust ang shutter speed since hindi pa naman masyadong madilim.
blogusvox, hahaha... thanks but i'm not even close to meeting sidney's capabilities. he is really good and that i miss his posts. i still need a good camera plus really interesting stories.
barry, tama ka talaga dyan. buti nga meron ng pathway connecting the LRt and the MRT kasi dati baba tapos aakyat ka pa uli. but still the congestion is still there.
rachel, yes. it's really annoying when its overcrowded.
oggie, maraming salamat bro. hahaha... yes i'm leaving early morning tomorrow. we'll see what cebu night scene can offer.
thanks for adding me on your blogroll. i'll do the same.
yeahred, thanks! many people really use the term traffic to describe heavy traffic. keep in touch.
meaning pasay rotanda is the busiest place in metro manila.
Dick and I are always fascinated with different modes of transportation. When we were in Japan, he took shots of dozens of different trucks...being pilots, we have LOTS of pics of airplanes...and boats. The list goes on!
You're photos scream peak hour.
Love how you freeze time here.
don't laugh, tell you a secret... I'm missing the fast race in Manila. triffic , people in a hurry. so much to observe.
When I was in Manila, my good Filipino friends didn't allow me to take the MRT. They said it is not safe. They have never taken the MRT too.
redlan, maraming salamat! hehehe... long exposure setting produce these. kakatuwa naman ang mga tao iniiba na nga talaga ang mga meaning ng mga salita.
hi sandy, i really like aerial shots. and i only had the chance to do that when i travel to other islands. i hope i get the chance to see those photos.
hi maya, thanks! that's funny. maybe it's fun when it rarely happens but experiencing it everyday is a torture. hehehe... pero yon na nga pag nakapunta sa isang lugar na bihira ang heavy traffic, malamang mami-miss mo talaga ito.
hi eastcoastlife, you made me laugh. maybe they learned it from other people. it is safe now, specially for women and disabled person because there's a special area for them.
i hope you get to visit manila again.
ang galing!!!! ang galing ng shots mo!!!
view from "metro point mall"? galing ng pagka capture ng 2nd pic... nakuha pati train! ^_^
Geez - and to think how risky it is to cross that busy street:( THese drivers seem to have no respect for pedestrians !
ah whats new! how many new vehicles are out on the road each day?
I take a jeep or fx from espana to lawton and then bus to cavite or if its full there, to baclaran. If I come from QC, mrt hanggang dulo then crow to silang, maybe the routes are different now but thats how I remember mine lol.

ay naku, I forgot to say, both are well taken images, ganda ng pagkakaexpose!
