but something funny happened today, as one person asked me if a brown out happened in our area last night as it was announced in the news. i then said "no" and i didn't know that there was supposed to be a brown out. then the earth hour came into my mind and i said "you mean the earth hour?" and she said "yes". it made me laugh aloud. because she thought that the earth hour means that the MERALCO* (Manila's largest electricity distributor) was the one to shut down the power generation of the greater Manila in support of the earth hour.so here's someone who missed to turn the lights off during the earth hour.

thanks to those who participated this year's Earth Hour and for those who missed it, you can do it tonight. Earth Hour is more of an awareness to a more conscious energy conservation world movement that we need to do on a regular basis.

That's great that a lot of people participated in Manila and that's funny about the person thinking it was a brown out.
I was sleep during the earth hour (8-9), the lights were off, so i guess i participated in a way...

I was in MOA that time and i overheard one SM employee asking what happened, why did the lights turned off? Maybe they were not briefed enough =)
Our household participated in the event as well. Nagtaka ibang kapit bahay namain ba't pinatay yung ilaw sa amin also from our building hall. I guess it should be Meralco who shut it down para mas maganda. But then again, it wouldn't be voluntary.
many were still unaware of it but through the participation of the malls and other major companies plus people who are updated with the news took part that made it a successful hour for energy conservation in Manila.
funny experience for some though. hehehe...
