it grows big

Today's reading talks about the mustard seed. here's the reading:

"What shall we say the Kingdom of God is like?" asked Jesus. "what parable shall we use to explain it? It is like this. A man takes a mustard seed, the smallest seed in the world, and plants it in the ground. After a while it grows up and becomes the biggest of all plants. It puts out such large branches that the birds come and make their nests in its shade." - Mark 4:30-32

This may be one of the simplest parables that Jesus gave to his disciples but is one of the most important. The mustard seed being the smallest among its breed becomes the biggest when it grows. This reflects our talents, our relationships and above all our heart. We may have simple talents or gifts or skills but when used for the right purpose and offered to the right person it becomes as big as all the other talents. It specially grows when shared and nortured by a growing spiritual lifestyle. It may not always be extraordinary in the eyes of the people but it is in the eyes of our master.

A life shared in the name of the Lord is a life worth living. Worth growing. Worth dying.
